What is TPS27081ADDCR?
It is a high side load switch that integrates a power PFET and a control NMOS within a micro package. This device has industry-standard ESD protection on all pins, providing better ESD compatibility
with other onboard components.
It can convert the level of the on/off logic signal to VIN level and support CPU or MCU logic as low as 1.0V to control higher voltage power supplies without the need for external level shifters.
Opening a high-value output capacitor through a fast on/off logic signal may result in excessive inrush current. To control the incoming current of the load, connect a resistor R2. An external capacitor C1
can be added to further limit the inrush current. To configure TPS27081ADDCR to obtain a specific conversion rate, please refer to the Application Information section.
A standby power switch application that does not require control of inrush current requires a single pull-up resistor R1. In such applications, connect TPS27081ADDCR pin R2 to system ground.
TPS27081ADDCR Applications:
Overcurrent Protection:The device includes overcurrent protection to safeguard against excessive current flow.
Low On-Resistance:Low on-resistance helps minimize power loss and voltage drop across the switch.
Adjustable Current Limit:Some power distribution switches, including the TPS27081ADDCR, allow the adjustment of the current limit to suit specific application requirements.
Fast Response Time:The device typically has a fast response time to quickly disconnect the load in the event of an overcurrent condition.
Thermal Protection:Thermal protection mechanisms help prevent the device from overheating under high-load conditions.
Fault Reporting:Some power switches include fault reporting features, providing feedback to the system about the status of the switch.
Wide Input Voltage Range:The device may support a wide input voltage range, making it versatile for various applications.
Power-Good Indicator:Some power distribution switches include a power-good indicator to signal when the output voltage is within the acceptable range.
Reverse Current Blocking:Some devices have reverse current blocking capabilities to prevent current from flowing back into the power source.
Control Interface:The switch may have a control interface that allows it to be easily controlled by a microcontroller or other digital circuitry.
